MISCONDUCT

M.A.D. Festival 2026 / Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal Outdoor installation, seven panels

Eight photographs, seven panels, installed at street level in the Quartier des Spectacles. Each image holds a micro-transgression: a small breach of public conduct that most people commit without noticing and no one names out loud.

The series works through four kinds of tension. Spatial, when a body uses a place the way it was not meant to be used. Psychological, when someone stays still while the city insists on movement. Social, when taking a seat means taking it from someone. Physical, when the distance between two bodies gives way before anyone is invited in.

Shot on location at night across Montreal, in collaboration with Gosselin and eleven Quebec designers.

01 / After Hours

Spatial tension, misuse

The table is set once the doors have closed. Maybe a place only opens the moment you stop asking permission to be there.

02 / Tagged

Spatial tension, exposure

Between the aisles, everything is sorted, sealed, priced. Does the label say what we are worth, or only what the eye decides to keep?

03 / The Calm Is Loud

Psychological tension, withdrawal

The night churns around a motionless centre. Sometimes withdrawing is not leaving, but staying differently.

04 / Out of Service

Psychological tension, immobility

The world goes past in a blur. She stays sharp, in front of a lane that no longer leads anywhere.

05 / The Look That Lingers

Social tension, fixation

One gaze insists. The other slips away. Who is watching whom?

06 / Bench Territory

Social tension, occupation

The bench spills over until it can no longer be shared. Does taking a place always mean taking one from someone else?

07 / The Wrong Line

Physical tension, obstruction

A line forms in front of nothing. Sometimes one body crossing first is enough for everyone else to believe in the path.

08 / Blind Spot

Physical tension, proximity

A screen lights up what was meant to stay private. Where does intrusion begin when no one touches anything?
